Profile 11: Ms. Annisha Wilson, Education and Health Business Owner

Miss Annisha Wilson is a truly Caribbean woman with heritage from Grenada and born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago.  She is a woman of strong faith with two businesses underway.

1.  Describe yourself in no more than three sentences, one if it is possible.
Determined, Positive and Honest

2.  Share with us what your business is about?
I am involved in two businesses at the present moment. I am teaching students how to read as they succeed at their level. I am also a new health coach encouraging others to live a healthier lifestyle.

3.  What is the main factor that got you involved or led you into business/entrepreneurship?
I want to be a change agent in society and globally. I love teaching and love to see others succeed.

4.  What is your number 1 business principle?
Motivation- Every person has the potential but may need a word to encourage them and let them know that they can. They can do all things through Christ is my motto.

5.  How critical is creativity in the running of your business?
Very important because you want to keep people interested but more than anything else you want it to be fun while they do it. There is always some creativity in what we do.

6.  What is the hardest lesson learnt in business so far?
It takes time management.

7.   Do you think that your experience is different in any way than a male in the same type of business? Please explain.
No, I believe it does not necessarily have a male or female in this type of business.

8.  List three things you just can’t go without?
God in my business, commitment and Vision

9.  Who or What is your greatest motivation?
My mother because she has taught me how to become an independent woman and there is nothing that you cannot accomplish.

10.  Is there any advice you would like to share to other young women hoping to start or just starting out in business?
The book of Habakkuk declares that we should write down our vision and make it plain. I have seen God remarkably unfolded my vision from paper and ink to reality.  Have faith in God...

Bonus Question: “What, in your opinion, is the best thing about being female?”

Our ability to withstand the storm and the rain in spite of the circumstances. We understand what it means to pray until something happens.
