Mind your business - Get up again!
I hope you've been handling your business better than I've been handling mine in recent days. There are those days when even in my role as wife, mother, daughter, woman (in no particular order) my handle game is poor. And the truth is I've stressed, complained and murmured about it. I know, I know...."that making sense?"
But God!! Holy Spirit keeps me in check and my loved ones don't allow me to wallow in my own mess for too long. Bless them. So I'm getting back up on the horse, 'strategizing' and reworking my system of operation. I want to just share with you a little bit about those steps I'm taking and hopefully encourage you to start to handle your business of life in spite of the stumbling blocks you may be facing.
1. Get back on the horse
Proverbs 24:16a says this about the righteous man,
The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again... (NLT)

I haven't been around horses much but I'm too much a fan of Westerns to not know that if you want to successfully ride a horse, or break that horse in, you need to expect to be thrown a time or two or more. I can tell you from personal experience as the young woman who fell and stayed down, staying on your butt, reliving failures and making excuses is not a place of glory. I'm that girl who dropped out of pan group because I wasn't getting it fast enough. Ooh, that comparison is poison! Can you imagine if I keep at it how great it would be to have the outlet of music to express myself?
There are many things in life more challenging than a music class that can really make you feel like curling up and staying down. But don't, don't stay down, friend. Get up again, fight back against the feeling of despair and press on towards victory in whatever war you are fighting.2. Strategize

3. Rework the systemWhile reworking the system is closely related to strategy, I'm addressing the topic independently because many of us are afraid to rework what is not working. You've heard it many times before and may likely hear it again but it's true that "insanity is doing the same thing over and over yet expecting different outcomes." If your plan is not working, take a step back to reevaluate. I've had to rework my writing system, household systems, work systems and I am still figuring it out. For my blog work, it included changing my writing place and a few other tweaks. This is just one example of me reworking the system in order to see optimal growth. I want to accomplish what I've not allowed myself to accomplish due to my fear of failing. My desire is to live life serving and pleasing God, my family and others. If I notice that I'm not satisfying that core goal then I must rework the system, implement it and observe the changes. Hopefully, they are all positive but when I notice things are not working, I know its time to rework the system again. After all, "wisdom is a principle thing."
Woman of business, messing up is ok, staying messed up is NOT. I really hope this article helps you as much as it is helping me. Let us get up and move forward in our lives, our family and our faith.
